Charging by the Byte to Curb Internet Traffic: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance

This is a very very serious warning shot from some evil decision makers.  Three of the largest ISPs are serious about charging by the byte for internet usage.  This will be a monumental blow to the future expansion of media over the internet, thus taking the power out of the hands of the many creatives presently pushing web content and back into the greedy hands of the major corporations.  You see, these same companies are either owned or associated with the same lovable companies that make your standard TV shows and films.  These large corporations aren’t too keen on the little man, or anyone but themselves for that matter, taking away their profit.  This strangling of the data truly cuts off a beautiful direction the web was going, and puts the power back into the hands off old media. I like many of the products from these companies, but I also enjoy having the choice to watch nearly anything else at any time I decide, a power that was only recently capable with the internet.  A solution must be created, and I feel an uprising may be the only way to stop these brash new rulings.  I am very intrigued to see where this goes in the future.
