foursquare: Am I mayor yet?

We made a quick yet long-awaited tweak to our apps today. You can now see how far away you are from becoming Mayor of the places you check into. Take it for a test drive tonight and see if it fires up the flames of competitiveness for you!

Just a quick reminder of how Mayorships work: To become…

Foursquare made an awesome improvement to their apps that now shows a user how close they are to becoming a mayor when they check-in to a venue. This is awesome, and I’m sure people will think, “Well what do you need Mayor Fight for now?”

What Mayor Fight does is something very different. Mayor Fight will go through your entire 60 day history, and show you what places you are closest to becoming the mayor of, a list of up to 50 locations in the best case.

I feel Foursquare’s new feature eliminates some other sites that only show you exactly how close you are to becoming a mayor of specific venue when you ask it.

However, Mayor Fight continues to be the only site that will tell you where you should check in to become mayor, and not the other way around.
